What should I do if my Kia Sportage is making a strange noise when turning?

I recently noticed that my Kia Sportage is making a strange noise whenever I turn the steering wheel. It almost sounds like a grinding noise. I'm not sure what could be causing this and I want to make sure I address it before it turns into a bigger problem. Any suggestions?

The most likely cause of this strange noise is a worn out steering wheel bearing. This is a common issue in older cars and can cause a lot of damage if left untreated. It's best to get it checked out by a mechanic as soon as possible.

Another possibility is that your power steering fluid is low or contaminated. Check the fluid level and quality and top off or replace if necessary. If the noise persists, it's best to bring it to a mechanic for further inspection.

I experienced a similar issue with my Kia Sportage and it turned out to be a loose or damaged serpentine belt. Check the belt for any signs of wear or damage and tighten or replace if necessary. This should solve the noise problem.
