Why do my brakes feel spongy in my Kia Sportage?

I recently purchased a Kia Sportage and noticed that the brakes feel spongy when I press on them. Is this a common issue and what could be the cause?

Spongy brakes can be caused by air in the brake lines or worn brake pads. It's important to have your brakes checked by a certified mechanic to properly diagnose and fix the issue.

I had the same issue with my Kia Sportage and it turned out to be a faulty brake master cylinder. I would suggest taking your car to a dealership to get it checked and potentially replaced.

One thing you can try is bleeding the brakes to get rid of any air bubbles. If that doesn't work, it could be a sign of a bigger issue and it's best to get it checked by a professional.
