What causes the engine to overheat in a Kia ProCeed?

I've been experiencing issues with my Kia ProCeed overheating and I'm not sure what's causing it. The temperature gauge goes up very quickly and I have to pull over. I've checked the coolant and it's at the right level. Can anyone advise on possible causes and how to fix it?

Based on your description, it sounds like it could be a faulty thermostat. Your car may be overheating because the thermostat is either stuck open or closed, resulting in improper temperature regulation. I would advise you to take your car to a mechanic and have them check the thermostat and its components.

Another potential cause could be a leak in your radiator or one of the hoses. Check for any puddles of coolant under your car and try to pinpoint where the leak is coming from. If the leak is in the radiator, you may need to replace it. If it's a hose, it can most likely be fixed with a simple patch.

You may also want to check the water pump and the fan. If the water pump is not functioning properly, it can cause the engine to overheat. And if the fan is not working, it won't be able to cool down the engine. These are two common issues that can lead to overheating in a car.
