Why is my Kia Sportage experiencing rough shifting?

I have noticed that my 2019 Kia Sportage is experiencing rough shifting between gears. It seems to happen more when I am accelerating. What could be causing this issue and how can I address it?

Hi Emma, rough shifting in a vehicle can be caused by a few different things. It could be a problem with the transmission fluid or filter, a worn out clutch, or a faulty shift solenoid. I would recommend taking your Sportage to a trusted mechanic to have it properly diagnosed. They will be able to determine the specific cause and provide a solution to fix it.

Hi Emma, I've had a similar issue with my Sportage before and it turned out to be a problem with the transmission fluid. I would suggest checking the fluid levels and condition first. If it's low or dirty, it could be causing the rough shifting. You may just need to do a simple fluid change to fix the issue.

Hello Emma, rough shifting can also be caused by a worn out clutch. If you hear a grinding noise when you shift gears, it could be a sign that your clutch needs to be replaced. I would recommend having a mechanic inspect your clutch and replace if necessary.
