Why is my Kia Sorento engine making a clicking noise?

I've noticed a clicking noise coming from my Kia Sorento's engine when I start the car. It goes away once the engine warms up, but it's still concerning. What could be causing this issue and should I be worried?

It's likely that the clicking noise is caused by a worn out timing belt or tensioner. These parts need to be replaced every 60,000 miles, so if you haven't had them replaced recently, it's definitely worth getting checked out by a mechanic.

Another common cause of clicking noises in the engine is low oil levels. Check your oil levels and top up if necessary. If the clicking noise persists, it's best to take it to a mechanic for further inspection.

In some cases, the clicking noise could be caused by a faulty fuel injector. If your Kia Sorento has high mileage, it's possible that one or more of the fuel injectors have become clogged or damaged. A mechanic can perform a diagnostic test to determine if this is the issue.
