I recently bought a Kia Niro and I've noticed that it takes much longer to charge than what I was told. I'm using a Level 2 charger and I'm only getting about half the range after a full day of charging. Is there something wrong with my car?
ReplyHi Maria, it's not uncommon for the charging time to vary depending on your use of the car and the charger you're using. Have you checked if there are any software updates for your car's battery management system? It's also possible that your battery may need to be recalibrated. You can contact Kia service for assistance.
I had a similar issue with my Kia Niro and found out that the issue was with the outlet I was using. Not all outlets are built to handle the power needs of an electric car. You may want to check if your outlet is up to the task or if you need to invest in a dedicated charger for your home.
I'm not sure how long you've had your Kia Niro, but it's possible that the battery is still learning your driving habits and adjusting its charging patterns accordingly. Give it some time and see if the charging time improves. If not, you may want to take it to a Kia dealership for a thorough check-up.
