Why is my Kia Ceed's engine making a rattling noise?

I recently purchased a Kia Ceed and I have noticed that the engine has been making a rattling noise. I'm worried that this could be a sign of a serious issue. Can anyone offer advice on what this could be and if I should take it to a mechanic?

It's possible that the rattling noise is due to low engine oil levels. Check your oil level and top up if needed. If the noise persists, it's best to take your car to a mechanic for a closer inspection.

Another potential cause for the rattling noise could be a loose heat shield in the engine. This is a relatively easy fix and you can even do it yourself using a screwdriver to tighten the screws holding the heat shield in place.

I had a similar issue with my Kia Ceed and it turned out to be a faulty timing chain tensioner. This should be covered under your car's warranty, so make sure to take it to a Kia dealership for repairs.
