Why is my Kia Ceed's engine making a clicking noise?

I recently noticed that my Kia Ceed's engine has started making a clicking noise. It seems to be louder when the car first starts up, but then it continues even when the car is running. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

It's possible that the clicking noise is coming from a faulty valve lifter. This can happen with age and wear and tear on the engine. It's important to have this checked out by a mechanic, as it could lead to further engine damage if left unchecked.

Another possible cause could be low oil levels. Make sure to check your oil regularly and top it off if needed. If this doesn't solve the problem, it's best to have a professional look at it.

It could also be an issue with the timing belt or serpentine belt. These belts can become worn and start to make a clicking noise as they rotate. Have a mechanic inspect them to see if they need to be replaced.
