Why does my Kia Niro make a loud clicking noise when I accelerate?

I recently noticed that my Kia Niro is making a loud clicking noise when I accelerate. It seems to be coming from the engine area. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

The most common cause of a loud clicking noise during acceleration is a worn out or damaged CV joint. This is found in the drive shaft and can cause serious issues if not addressed. I would recommend taking your Kia Niro to a trusted mechanic to have it checked out and repaired if necessary.

Another possibility is that your engine's spark plugs are worn out. This can cause a clicking sound as the engine struggles to ignite properly. I would suggest getting a tune-up and having the spark plugs replaced to see if that resolves the issue.

It could also be something as simple as a loose or damaged heat shield on your exhaust system. This can cause a clicking noise as the exhaust pipe bumps against it during acceleration. A mechanic can easily fix this for you.
