How often should I change my Kia Rio's brake pads?

I recently purchased a Kia Rio and I'm wondering how often I should change the brake pads? Is it a good idea to wait until I hear them squeaking or should I proactively replace them every so often?

It's recommended to replace your brake pads every 30,000 miles or when they reach a thickness of 3 millimeters. However, it's always a good idea to proactively check your brake pads every 10,000 miles and replace them if necessary.

I've found that replacing my brake pads every two years works well for me. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to brake maintenance.

It's important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for replacing brake pads. However, if you typically drive in heavy traffic or do a lot of stop-and-go driving, you may need to replace them more frequently.
