I recently noticed that my Kia Ceed is due for an oil change and I want to make sure I do it correctly. Can someone provide me with step-by-step instructions on how to change the engine oil?
ReplyFirst things first, make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials such as a new oil filter, new engine oil, a funnel, and a drain pan. You can purchase these at any auto parts store.
Start by warming up your car for a few minutes to ensure easier drainage of the old oil. Then, park your car on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
Next, locate the oil drain plug underneath your car and place the drain pan underneath. Loosen the plug with a wrench and let the old oil drain completely.
While the old oil is draining, replace the old oil filter by twisting it counterclockwise. Make sure to lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with some new oil before installing it.
Once the new filter is installed, clean the drain plug and reattach it, tightening it with your wrench. Then, fill up the engine with the amount of new oil recommended in your owner's manual.
